insomnia rant! here we go!

i have this upstairs neighbor who clearly didn't go to walking hagwon. he/she, instead of using the balls of the feet, chooses to stomp around by putting all bodily weight on the heels instead.

this has always made me wonder. i have a sister who does this. little kids do it. it's not even a question of consideration for those below you, it's a question of "how do you not end up with sore heels if you walk like a rhinoceros?" the human body is made for more graceful movement, but some choose to pretend they're walking on two treetrunks rather than the majestic, graceful, jointed legs we've evolved on top of.

the only reason i could possibly think of for this is simply stupidity. my sister has an excuse, she's over 300 pounds. i've not seen any fat people in my building, so i'm assuming that it's just a complete lack of intelligence.

it's like if you had a massive computer system and you only used it for word processing. instead of legs, why don't you just have a couple of concrete rowboats strapped to your hips? it'd sound about the same.

and plus, this missing link of a neighbor chooses to do laps of his/her tiny apartment. what is happening up there? restoring a vintage automobile? are you a freelance medical examiner? are you operating a small supermarket out of your apartment?

so - some choice korean notes to hang on this person's door... can anyone translate these?

stuff akin to:
"please, when you're walking around your apartment at 3-4am, could you try to do it more quietly?"

"your legs are beautiful instruments meant to absorb the shock of your body's weight. please keep your joints in mind and use them like someone who understands basic grade 1 anatomy."

"imagine that your bedroom is a giant drum. then consider the person who lives underneath the drum skin."

"walk like a human, not an elephant who forgot to be born with brains."

"go to fucking bed, are you a vampire?"

Maybe the girls are running a little overnight 'business' out of their apartment.

Spray some WD 40 on the floor, right outside her door.
