I'm looking to travel to Ko Phangan this winter. What should I expect to pay for tickets to Bangkok, and then tickets to Ko Samui from Bangkok? And if anyone has the info, maybe the boat fares from Samui to Phangan?

EVA is a cheapie - Incheon to Bangkok returns start at around 300,000won (not including tax). Trouble is, the schedule is not very good - the return to Incheon leaves Bangkok at 6.00am and doesn't arrive until around 8pm.

Bangkok airways fly to Samui (the only airline to do so I think). You can buy tickets at the airport for about 4000 baht, for same day travel. Then the boat to Ko Phangan is something like 250baht if I remember correctly.

Winter is an expensive time to travel. Email or call Kangsantravel.com now. They are the only good travel agent i know of that operates out of Busan. Have them check thier pricing.
We did the same trip a year ago (June 2006). Tickets were 500,000 r/t from Busan to Bangkok. (yours will be more expensive b/c you are flying in high season)Then we booked bangkokairways flights. Our flight arrived in BKK at about 11 and we spent the night in the airport then took the 7am flight to Samui. Then the ferry from samui to Koh phangan. I can't remember how much the boat cost. You should be able to find that online somewhere.
How muc htime do you have? if you have a good bit, the other alternative is to take the train from Bankok to xxxx (can't remember) and then take like a 6 hour ferry from their to Samui. There's some kind of deal where you can get the train and ferry booked together with the same company. Look around on the internet. Google is your friend. My friends that took the train really loved it as it goes right through the jungle.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I am planning the same trip this Winter as the OP.

One difference, I am going one way to Bangkok and then 1 way to the states since it will be the end of my contract.

Is it better to buy your onward flight out of Bangkok in Korea or in Bangkok?

^Buy it in Bangkok. You will save loads. Plane tickets bought in Korea are the most expensive I've seen anywhere in the world.

The ferry from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan is anywhere from 150 baht to 250 baht, depending on what time of the day you go. The earlier the better.
