Do you always need a Letter of Release, or is it enough for your former school to cancel the E-2 in order for you to get another job?

Also, is there a number where you can reach immigration to make sure the E-2 has been cancelled?

Your help is appreciated. Thanks!

A letter of release is often the equivelant of the employer going to immigration and cancelling the employee's visa. However, there are some immigration offices that require the employer cancelling the visa.
