What's up with those vibrating belt exercise machines.
I've seen some really fat chicks using them - and all their fat was wobbling in the right places - but what exactly does the machine do?
Are they for toning - or to lose weight? I always thought you had to sweat to lose weight (I'm a long-time runner). What's the science behind the vibrating belt? Any info appreciated? |

Hahaha.....Most people I see use them tend to just come off the bike or treadmill. A bit of a massage after a workout?? But I agree.....the fatter people do really like them!! So do the older people.
As for the science, I dunno?!?! You've got me. |

one of my students told me it was to loosen up the muscles to prevent soreness. |

that is so funny! i always wondered that myself...they were really popular at my old gym...especially with the women...who would do 5 mins of cardio...stand around talking to their friends for 20 minutes...use the belt thing for another 5 or 10 minutes then leave.....the gyms here are seriously a social gathering, i never saw anyone actually working out for more than 15 minutes
you DO have to sweat to lose weight, these people are wasting their money. |

Thanks for that. I've always stretched after running - but I'll give the belt a go. |

They don't remove fat, but they do help with the soreness. I feel they make my skin itch while using them, though. Weird. |
