Anyone got info on the Seoul Fireworks Festival (this weekend)?

Is it near the Han River? Where? Subway line and stop? Time?

Thanks for any info.

Here's the info from last year's festival, although I'm sure the place is still the same:

http://english.tour2korea.com/02Culture/events/Depth04.asp?sight=Event&sightseeing_id=562&ADDRESS_1=6142&ADDRESS_2=4746&konum=1&kosm=m2_1

As much as I've always wanted to check this thing out, I could never bring myself to deal with the absolute chaos of crowds, noise and traffic that will surely be in evidence. Even I have my limits.

If you go, go wayyyyy early. 2 hours maybe.

I went about 3 years ago and regretted it. I got off at Yeouinaru station in a train so crowded, it was dangerous. People were getting trampled.

Then it took about 45 minutes to get from the bottom of the landing platform up to the street.

When I got there, my friend (now ex-friend) stood me up.

Case in point. I can understand crowded festivals, but that's too much. I'd rather eat a bucket of my own poo than endure that kind of horror show.

'Horror show' is one way of putting it.

Ilsanman is right. The crowd control is poor and potentially fatal.

If you want to see it, a better bet would be to find a spot at the riverside park area next to Ichon Station.
