Someone once posted a map of what the Seoul subway system is supposed to look like 5-6 (or 10?) years from now. I've tried searching the web and this site for it, but no luck. Does anyone here remember that, or have the link to it?

Cheers,

KC

I'm just wondering if that line to Paju via Goyang is just the existing KNR overground line and if so, will it get upgraded and see more trains than the one rattler per hour it sees now.

Head to any line 5,6,7,8 station. Their subway map shows the future routes.

I don't really expect anyone to know the answer to this, but just in case:

In some stations (especially the Bundang line ones), it shows some of these future lines, like the newly opened one to the airport.

One of interest to me is the extension of the yellow Bundang line up to Wangsimni. Does anyone know when this might happen? It would make my life infinitely easier.

Also, they're building another Bundang line starting from Gangnam right now and it's shown on these new maps in the stations. However, on this map of the future you've provided (thanks, btw) its not there. We need more N-S lines from Gangnam area to the center, in my humble opinion.

I believe the Bundang extension will be finished next year.

I saw a problem with this map.

There are 2 stations named Dogok, 2 named Shinchun, and 2 named Nonhyeon.

Talk about mass confusion, Batman.

Don't forget the two Cheongnyagni stations which is particularly confusing when you're looking for the train station.

Don't have time to check them all, but the first one is wrong: one is Sinchon (신촌) and the other is Sincheon (신천).

That's a cool site, mindmetoo. I'm somewhat of a map hound, and a subway system enthusiast. Needless to say I spend many nights alone.

Anyway, I hope they're correct about that opening date of 2008. Right now it takes me about an hour to get from Hanti to Hoegi, but with this extension I can get there, theoretically, in less than half that time. Schweet!

Thanks again.

Yeah. Love that site too. Love checking all the subway systems around the world. I always say a city needs the four Great S's:

Sushi
Symphony
Spicy food
Subway

Buzz!!! Wrong!!

There is already 신천 near Jamsil, and they're opening another one in Shiheung, just south of Bucheon.

신촌 is by Hongdae.
