Hi everyone,
as many of you may remember, I posted a couple of times about volunteering for a dog shelter in Daejeon in the past few months.

Unfortunately, the city decided to close it down due to the number of animals (on a greenbelt area) by the end of this month!!Conclusion: more than 150 dogs are going to the pound where they have a month before getting euthanized! The poor woman dedicated her whole life and money for these dogs.

We really need help now more than ever! If you think you could foster, adopt, give donations or help transport some animals, please contact Annie at [email protected] or Tim at [email protected]

If you cant do any of this, please still spread the word!!
For more information:

Thank you!

Wo,
yes, I really hate getting into fights. So the only thing I will say is that I chose my cause and that I hope you have one too and that you stick to it as much as I try to stick to mine. So when you need help for yours, I'll try to help you as much as possible.

But thanks for bringing up the point Very Happy

Thanks for posting this. I also know a few Korean people who are dog lovers and belong to clubs in the Seoul area. I'll forward the site to them, but if you could post an address and phone number to the shelter here on this forum, it would make life a whole lot easier for these people I know.

What's wrong with eating the dogs? There are starving Koreans all over the place...better to eat them then kill them IMO.

These dogs were not raised and fed for human consumption.

I've heard this arguement before and find it irrelevent at best. Since when has the life of a dog been more important than that of a human? Most of these dogs will end of being put down regardless. So why not use the end product of their demise to save humans.

The country that was indirectly responsible for banning dogmeat during the Seoul Olympics kills more dogs than all the rest of the world combined.

Well......
Why don't people get together, make bilingual flyers (in English and Korean) and try to post them in the region and also in Seoul and try to find homes for these dogs.
It might also help to try to post some on poles close to the American army-air force bases in the area, I think some American families living in the area might be interested in possibly adopting one of those poor dogs.
Does anyone know any good vets in the area. If so, you can try to make a deal with them so if foreigners adopt one of these dogs, they can give them vaccinations and documentation so they can bring the dogs back home with them when they leave.

There are many things that can be done to help these poor helpless dogs, if we acted on it....

I thought that the OP was asking people to help kill the dogs.

Good ideas. I hope there's some way to save them.
