I had to badger the local office to get mine. It took almost 3 months!

When I applied for my pension, I was told that the paperwork wouldn't be processed until the office receives proof that you have left the country.

Apparently this is a recent change. Last year they processed the paperwork while I waited and I got a receipt with the amount to be refunded before I left the office. Now it will take two months or more to get the deposit.

Beep that it should be cash in hand or the school should sort you out.

None of this waiting around crap. What if it never arrives and you have to make multiple calls and umming and arring?

Is this true? Does anyone else have an example of this?

I had to wait about 2 months in 2002 and 2003. I haven't applied since, but I don't see why it would take any less time. The guy working at the office told me it would take 1-3 months to get the money to Canada. About 3 weeks after I got the money they also sent me a receipt for tax purposes in Canada.
