My visa is up in less than 2 months. Is there any grace period, like a week or so, to leave the country? Or is it set in stone that I have to be out of the country by the visa expiration date?
Thanks! |

There is no grace period. The day your visa is up, you must board a plane. That said, you CAN get an extension very easily.
If your visa expires before your school wants to let you go, the school will send you to immigration with an ammendment of your contract and it will cost 10,000won.
If you want to stay in Korea for a couple weeks after your job and visa are complete, simply bring your plane ticket to immigration and they will extend your visa until the day of your departure for no charge.
If you don't get it extended, it will cost you up to 100,000 won at the airport, plus an hour+ of your time. |

There is NO grace period.
You have 3 choices:
1) Leave the country BEFORE midnight on the last date indicated on your ARC.
2) Get an extension (free).
3) Overstay your visa, be delayed at departure time, pay the fines and get a black mark in your file.
