Hi! I'm Maria.
Have some free time, want to use it for personal development. Was at Daejeon International Community Center, they only offer Korean classes. Anybody have any idea about "interest groups" in Daejeon where I could revitalize my German, for instance, or start learning Spanish, or take art classes or some other "crafty" stuff? |

I don't know about classes, but there is a zoo with carnival rides in Daejeon, and it's near a mountain park. |

There's an amusement park, too, if you you're feeling generous enough to categorize Dreamland as such. |

All department stores have a cultural centre - they offer classes in many things.
10th floor of Time World, 7th or 8th floor of Save Zone... 9th of Lotte Department Store and Say Department Store has one, too.
Just go up there and see what takes your fancy, pay your money and join.
You will have to learn stuff in Korean, but hey, you can also learn by seeing, right? I learned some basic pottery skills with a Korean master and that was pretty fun - they usually give preferential treatment to foreigners in terms of class time, cos they know you don't really understand what they are saying, so they come to you and see what you are doing and show you in close-up how things are done. |

Yup. The ballroom dance and Thai/Korean/Chinese cooking classes were pretty good. Still looking for a decent 해동검도 class, though. |

The International Community Center offers almost free evening classes. The Center is right across the street from the train station. The YMCA is Mannyeon-dong might also offer classes in the evenings. |
