Are you so bothered by the transient troll? Many of you will know the troll I mean, the one who gets banned and returns again and again to fill our inboxes with delightful trash talk, and colour up the threads with mischievous nonsense.

Some people seem really vexed by it, other's (while not approving) don't give a toss while others even find it amusing. Which one are you? And is it really worth changing things at Dave's to keep this one troll out?

My opinion: it doesn't bother me that much. I can delete the nonsense, or skim past it. Sometimes it's a little amusing too. I'm patient enough to wait a few hours for the mods to mop up after him, and I'm satisfied with how the mods have been dealing with him.

I don't get spam from any trolls. Ha! What a ridiculous sentence that was...

I, too, immediately thought of Voldemort.

Yes, I was playing about with that a bit. Cool Well spotted.

There have been calls for the mods to do something about our own little Voldemort (who just like Harry Potter's nemisis, keeps coming back after he is dead) but I wonder if increased restrictions are really worth it, for the trivial nuisance he is (IMO of course).

I voted, "While I don't necessarily approve, I find it a little funny."

I think the mods are handling this situation pretty well, but I don't think they're looking at the larger issue ... the fact that this site attracts the lowest common denominator because the TOS haven't been enforced consistently for years and years. The thing is, no one really takes this particular troll seriouslybut the mods seem to have granted seniority rights to other posters whove engaged in the most despicable behaviour imaginable. The worst assholes are allowed to set the tone of just about every discussion around here, and the vilest comments are allowed to standapparently because the mods really like the people who made them. Or maybe they just dont like the victims very much.

BTW, are we actually not allowed to name the troll in question? Or is it just that he has too many names to keep up with?

Well, at least you're doing your part to raise the standard of decency, eh.

Good question. A bit of both, I reckon. Smile
