I think the moderators deserve a round of applause. Not only did this new measure fend off the recent attack by Kevin Gesler, but it's also kept all these new reporters from contacting us directly.

I'm a bit surprised they even made the effort. Actually rolled up their sleeves and fixed/improved something on this creaky old clunker of a messageboard. Indeed, surprised it was even possible. There are countless annoyances here, both big and small, such as the crap search function for one among the hundreds, that could really stand some attention. But no, we're always told that it's impossible, or it would take a herculean effort, an unpaid army working round the clock for weeks, yadda yadda. And so things are always just left the way they are. Sucking.

And yet they slapped this 25-post-minimum-before-PM-privileges dealy together without undue fuss or fanfare. Kinda makes you wonder what other helpful improvements could be made that they're just dragging their feet over.

Before someone tells me "you get what you pay for", I'd be prepared to shoot the owner a few bucks a year to continue having access to this board. (though I assume he's not been running this site for years out of sheer unadulterated kindness, and that ad revenue already more than compensates for what it would take to update this messageboard)
