Demanding Israel be gone without demanding that its enemies accept liberal democracy makes one an apologist for persecution of arab jews and other minorities and ethnic cleansing.
As soon as Israels enemies accept liberal democracy it is a good topic
but for now we have to recognize that Bathists , Khomeni followers Al Qaedists are fascist racist ideologies that can't be trusted to govern or protect their minority groups.
If the middle east accepts liberal democracy then it is a worthy topic- other wise two state solution. |

the reason joo ignored this is because it has no bearing on the Israel-Palestine issue. Who cares how the US gov't defines it? For argument's sake, even if what you say is true, it still does not detract from Joo's point.
Israel's strongest defense is that it does provide civil rights for minorities. Neighboring countries cannot say the same. While there are components of Israeli society that are trying to remove those rights, they are a minority and have had limited success. If and when they do succeed, then Israel will not be any better than its neighbors. |
