This is for statistical purposes only and two schools have been included in the above poll. Feel free to write about why you selected the school you did in the poll.

If we write an explanation, we can be sued by said school for slander.
That being said, I chose Wondercrap. Had friends work there, they got screwed. I personaly don't know or care, but that's what I heard.

Someone please try to sue me Smile

Can you imagine trying to get a job back home with Ding Ding Dang on your resume. It sounds like a kitchy Chinese restaurant with a six foot egg roll.

I voted Wonderland because they've offered terrible contracts. I've seen them several times. In addition, there have been issues with taxes, medical insurance, pension, building safety, housing accomodations and honoring labor contracts.

I worked at Wonderland, EBY, Kid's Club, Jung Chul, EWHA ALS (x2 branches), Reading Town, and KEDC.

Some are big operations, some are small in the hagwon world, and a lot depends on the quality of the management when working at one.

My worst experience was at Wonderland on Geoje Island, followed by an EWHA in Busan.

Yes, the same one. I worked there a few months after he left. At a later date, when he was writing the book, I exchanged a few stories with him. It was apparent that the place hadn't changed at all.

Of course Wonderland, their rep has been bad for years and many foreigners here know it. I'm sure some are OK, and there are many other lousy ones, big chains or not. Reputation matters, and I bet some decent workplaces and employers suffer due to the reputations of their chains.

Interesting....but gary...

You say the poll is solely for statistical purposes . However how statistically relevant do you think this poll will be?

How reliable is your sample and how wide?

You are polling from an anonymous online discussion board. I would assume your results will be somewhat dubious....for example what about the silent majority of teachers who either have positive experiences or who do not post here but work at one of those schools?

I suspect your poll will have a margin or error of about +/- 99% but all in good fun....

If you say based on personal experiences at one of those schools gary then what you get is pretty much statistically irrelevent anecdotes and testimony...

Anyway...lets see where this goes. Very Happy

If teachers have a positive experience, they're free to refute anything that's been said in this forum.

Oh gary.....how nice... Laughing

You know full well what happens to people who post positive experiences on here...especially about these schools...but thats not important.

Your little poll will yield the predictable results...and be anything by conclusive, statistically relevant or scientific...but if your aim is to stir the soup in the barrel...you will attain it.

Enjoy the poll....

I don't know anything about them, but how could you not love a school by the name of Ding Ding Dang. Darn, it brings to mind a girl I once knew who lived at 69 Dingly Dell Drive. Wink
