I'm thinking of taking a position with Wall Street Institute in Daegu. I've read a little about WSI in general, but have heard nothing about Daegu.
1) They are asking me to work 2 Saturdays a month, as part of the contract, with no OT paid. Is this normal for WSI?
2) The contract states there is no vacation paid. Isn't this against Korean labor law? Is this typical for WSI?
3) It states that I will work 40 hours a week, but does not stipulate actual teaching hours (over the phone the recruiter stated there is no more than 6 hours/day teaching). Can any WSI teachers tell me how this plays out in real-life?
4) Can anyone who has worked at Wall Street Inst. please fill me in on the working conditions (how many hours teaching/Saturday work). Especially the Daegu office - is it a good place?
Thanks |

Hey
I was offered a contract with WSI in Busan
Looked similar to wot u have put there.
-Above average salary but long hours (mine worked out to more than 40 hours once you include all the prep work and meetings expected of you)
-No paid vacation, tho i managed to wrangle 10 days unpaid vacation haha. (i checked it out and aparently for a first year at a job in Korea you are entitled to 1 day off per mont or something. My contract offered this)
Baisically for what i wanted, there was too little reward for what the expected from me.
All the best |
