The Norther Limit Line is the seaborder between the ROK and DPRK and has been so since the Korean war. The basic rule for any country is that terriroty is sacred and is not to be ceded without a fight. I guess that goes for any country except one where Roh Moo-hyun is president

http://joongangdaily.joins.com/article/view.asp?aid=2881438

Just who is running this ship anyway?

Quote:
The Military Demarcation Line was a line that two sides have agreed upon, but the NLL was a one-sided decision, explained ...

Sounds like DPRK propaganda. So, who said it?

Quote:
Rohs spokesman Cheon Ho-seon

A spokesman doesnt express his views. He speaks for the person he represents. So basically here is Roh's position, and guess what, it is pretty much the same as that of the DPRK. Roh is calling into question the territorial integrity of the country he is president of. If he has flirted with treason before, this is a downright one night stand.

Quote:
There are people in this country who think the NLL issue is directly related to territory, Roh told reporters. Thats an idea that is sure to mislead the public.

Interesting. If I look at a map the NLL on the southern side runs pretty close to a bunch or TERRITORY. Now, Im sure Roh isnt calling for redrawing the NLL northards therefore any adjustment to the NLL would mean losing territory. Treason.

Quote:
Why call a line drawn within the same territory a territorial border and have concerns for territorial sovereignty? he asked. Isnt this a confusing term for everyone?

Last time I checked the DPRK and ROK were 2 very seperate states, still in a state of War afterall. So what the hell is this uneducated joker talking about? Same territory? Just what did he promise Kim, anyway?

Now, the army. As you all recall a lot of ROK sailors got killed by the DPRK in 2002. Heres what the army is saying

Quote:
The Korean military, which has fought sea battles to defend the line in the past, seemed bewildered, but did not respond formally to their commander-in-chief.
We are not sure why Mr. President suddenly brought up this idea, an army official said.

Roh, who is now caling into question the NLL is basically spitting at thos who died defending it. This is the commander-in-chief of the Korean army. Outrageous.

Quote:
Defense Minister Kim Jang-soo defined the NLL as a territorial concept with substance before the National Assembly in August.

Any sane person would come to that conclusion. The substance coming from the blood of those spilled during the Korean war to repell the invaders from the North and those who have since served years out of their lives and even died to defend it. It has substance, and its color is red.

Quote:
During his chat with reporters, Roh also explained that Kim Jong-il insisted he had no intention of possessing nuclear weapons.
He said that was an instruction from his late father [Kim Il Sung] and they are very certain of it, Roh said. Kim told me he wanted to sincerely engage in the six-party talks and bring forward a successful result.

What a bunch of crap. of KJI was so intent on not posessing nukes why the *beep* do they have a nuclear weapons program?

Is this idiot Roh getting dumber, more reckless and dangerous as his time in the Blue House runs out?

He's going to try to "give it up softly". With this whole "open fishing area", he's giving up territory.

He honestly believes this is one nation - DJ's teachings musta' really fooled him.

Man, how long until December??

Hopefully Lee brings him up on chargs of treason, because wtf is this if NOT treason? Giving up territory to the North is nothing but treason. Young men have DIED there to defend the NLL. Not only have those who died in 2002 not been honored by this fucking clown who should be kneeling before their families and graves to thank them for their courage and sacrifice, he is spitting on their death.

Not to mention his administration's negligence when it comes to repatrioting Korean defectors.

Interesting how Ron Paul, Iran, Obama etc are more relevant to people in this forum than something very important happening in the country they live in.

You should mention George Bush or the United States in every post if you want people to respond. Wink

Roh Moo Hyun is a lame duck, he has no interest. Everyone seems to know that this celebrated idiot only has the interests of his narrow minded "Sunshine Policy" at heart. Furthermore, I wouldn't call him a traitor, just inept. No one takes him seriously, in a few months there will be a new Korean administration and Mr. Roh will be history.

It would be better to talk about the upcoming election and what policies and reforms Roh's replacement has in planned.

Roh has been talking about this for several weeks. I wish I hadn't lost contact with my former student who was called away from watching a World Cup game to go out to sea to pick up the bodies of his dead comrades in that sea battle in '02. I'd like to hear how he feels about this.

Reading "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader" (an excellent book) makes you think Kim Dae Jung/Roh's North Korean policies are shameful. This is from page 716:

"Eventually, I heard that the pendulum had swung so far that the Kim Dae-Jung administration had taken to discouraging defectors from giving interviews for fear they would antagonize Pyongyang and cloud the "sunshine" policy. The Roh Moo-hyun adminstration reportedley continued such a policy."

Don't Koreans study Chamberlain's policy of appeasment pre-WWII? My god, what a horrible joke the leadership of this country is. I'm convinced if it weren't for the technology/money/capital investment of Japan and the U.S.A., this country would be a mirror of Burma. Dumb sheep.
