huffdaddy insisted:

| First, it's not a letter to the NAACP President. It's a letter to Dr. R L White. The NAACP has nothing to do with his stance on Vick. |
I realize the public educational system in South Dakota has been found wanting, but make an effort to read carefully. I never said the letter was from the president of the organization, dufus.
In any case, it's immaterial to the point of concern raised in the letter, namely, that ANY black official would find the need to defend a punk like Vick. Got it yet or do you need a coloring book?
As for finding the source over your concern about the picketing, I made a suggestion already to that effect.
Now go eat some Cocoa Puffs. |

"from"...WTF are you talking about "from"?
Look at what huff said:

Pretty ballsy, AGAIN to play this card.
Your thread title (an open letter to the president of the NAACP) is NOT who the letter is addressed to.
I'd say it's best to make sure you aren't making yourself look like an ass (by, let's say, rereading your thread title).

It appears to me that the "point of concern raised in the letter" is that Dr White is an idiot. It CERTAINLY doesn't seem suggest that possibility of "any black official".
But since I don't read very much, I'm hoping you'd be able to clarify how you managed to come to your opinion by quoting sentences from the letter that indicate that the author is talking about "ANY black official". Seems to me he's FAR more keen on calling Dr. White a fool. And he even has the balls to do it in the public domain and not in a personalized letter. Kudos to you, Mr. Man-of-Principle!

So obviously you realize that you (or the author) is making that *beep* up. Your claim=your source |

Ditto on what khyber said.
Google "the NAACP tried to expose this letter writer as a "bigot" by picketing outside his home". It comes up twice. Both are from this very thread.
If your information comes from another source, you should in the very least state that, and disown yourself from the erroneous claim.
The way the OP reads, it sounds like it's your intro to the chain letter. The fact that Google doesn't turn up any evidence of someone else using that phrase supports that idea. If that's the case, then you either need to provide evidence of that claim, or retract it. Or you can continue to ignore it and prove once again that you're a weaselly troll. |

| The writer of the letter, James Barton, was ridiculing the fact that some black leaders resort to cries of victimization (e.g., Michael Vick) regardless of what both common sense and police investigation would dictate. |
And I was assailing the fact you like to point out the failings of blacks out of all proportion to 1. their representation on this board, 2. their representation as a demographic in America, but all the while fail to hold to account whites for supporting far worse actions done by whites. Sorry this simple point escapes you. Further, you said you fully endorse the letter. That makes you stupid, as per your own definition as propounded in the letter you fully support. It's your own petard, friend.

| Anyone else want to assail the OP rather than address the issue raised in the chain letter? |
I did address the points in the OP. I said they were 1. hypocritically stupid in claiming, in a case of hyperbole seldom matched, that whites and blacks were intrinsically different in that blacks support people of their color who are in the wrong while whites never do.
Steve, you're no longer a challenge. Boring. |
