1 million won is 100 pieces of paper. $1000 is 100 pieces of paper. Bring your dollars. If you are Canadian you can bring CAD. You do NOT need to exchange them to US$. The foreign exchange places here all take CAD.
Exchange your money in KOREA. You will get a better rate than you would in Canada.
Bring the currency. Your losses on the exchange rate or currency fluxuation on that small an amount and for the short time you will carry it are insignificant.
Depending on your job, getting to a bank during banking hours may be problematic. Exchange some or most of it at the airport. The exchange booths at the Korean International Airport ARE the banks and offer the same exchange rate that you will get from a bank in town. |
