So magic straight has really been on my mind lately...I'm apprehensive though because it's a major chemical process, and though my hair is wavy, it's a little on the thin side...so I don't wanna end up with a couple strands of hair that cling to my face.

has anyone done it? what were the results? any regrets? whaddya guys think?

(I'm in Daejeon, so I could go to seoul if anyone reccomends a good salon p.s. nowhere in Itaewon cuz the price will be jacked)

jindodog you are in Daejeon?! I must be confusing you with someone else.

LOL..

Anyway...

I've done it numerous times and I actually found that I was losing LESS hair than if I had just left my hair untreated.

The trick is to do a simple treatment at the same time - this costs between 20-70,000 won .. obviously you choose how cheap or expensive you want it to be.

The place I normally go to is the one behind Time World, above Paris Baguette. If you come out of the shoes exit, as if you were going to the stationery / designer clothes building, turn left and there is one of the oldest Paris Baguette in Daejeon. Above it is a biggish hair salon. The last time I went they were doing a 20% off sale and I opted for a simple, cheap conditioning treatment. I think my bill came to 60,000 or 70,000 won.

I've been going there for many years. They used to have a guy who was trained in London and could speak a bit of English. He was great. Then he left and although he sort of told me where he started his own hair salon, I never went because it was in downtown and just not very convenient... but the other people are just as great and they are pretty used to dealing with foreigners, too.

Of course there are other places.. but this is one I would personally recommend.

Yuseong - let me guess, you are no No-eun-dong??

If that's the case, then jump onto the subway and go to City Hall. Get off and follow directions to Time World. If in doubt, ask.. that's one of the most known landmark. Then when you get to the front of it (big round, dome like entrance), instead of going in, keep walking and you will see a paris baguette, and on the first floor (or 2nd if you think Korean... heh) is the hairdresser's.
