I was there after midnight. Nothing was open. It was a virtual ghost town.
If you go at 8-9 pm, it will have a nice atmosphere. |

However Insadong is a short five to ten minute walk from the Jong-lo nightlife area, which has a million different places to choose from. Two city blocks and five to six stories high of neon, restaurants and bars...
Your best bet is to head down to the Tapgol Park end of Insadong, walk to the main road, turn right and walk for a minute or so and then cross the road. Any road that leads off of that street will lead you there. |

Insadong is a great place to start a night on the town actually. Check oiut the mokkoli bars of Pimatgol (피맛골), instead of going out for dinner, sit on the floor, have fish, dubu kimchi, pajeon, and other kinds of anju, and try different kinds of old Korean boozes, getting loaded the traditional Korean way.
Ilsanman's right though, start there 8-9ish, then head to Jongno or Shinchon for where the party's at later. |
