That's near Sinchon right? I couldn't find the opening date. Didn't look too bad, though. |

Just wondering, is your caps lock stuck? Do you have an interest in promoting this place? No thanks, I'll stick with Choi's Tacos. |

Taco Bell opened and failed in Korea? When? I can't recalling seeing any in 2000-2001 when I was a tourist. I came here in 2003 and never saw one. |

I am all over this like white on rice. Heck, even the Margaritas look authentic, and not too pricey, 7,900 won. Yeah, it's a big chain type of Mexican, but that's fine in my book, as we're in Korea. It'll be better than any of these not-quite-mexican tasting joints around. |

I never saw it but I've heard some old timers talk about taco bell being in Korea. My memory is sketchy and someone with more accurate information please chime in. Anyway, there was a taco bell in Gangnam pre-IMF.
It went out of business. Koreans did not like it -- ready for this -- they said it was too spicy. |

many foreign companies pulled out of this country in the late 90's.
Remember, Korea has just recently gotten back to the level of wealth that it had acquired pre-IMF. Old-timers are reminiscent of the old days with wendys, taco bell, and virgin superstores..... |

From my understanding, Taco Bell was one of/the first fast food chain in Korea. It was here in the early 90's and, I guess, failed miserably. None of my high schoolers even remember it (which makes sense, as they were babies in the early 90's), but I know it was here.

I will never understand why anyone goes there. The meat is fatty and I think, literally, one out of every five times they managed to get my order correct. After them fucking up our order 3 times (on the same order), we finally said, "enough is enough," and haven't been back since. I'm excited to see if this new place sucks or not. I REALLY want a good Mexican restaurant to go to here...

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Taco Bell pop up in the near future. With KFC and Pizza Hut having such a strong presence here, it's only a matter of time before Pepsico decides that mexican cuisine (if you can even consider Taco Bell mexican cuisine) has finally started to catch on here and it's worth another shot. |
