Hey hey
Does anyone here have experience in a Korean nightclub (booking), I'd like to go to one someday, but the few times I've tried, I've been refused entry.
My Korean isnt up to par, so would it still be possible to have fun, i imagine there will be one or 2 English speakers in the bunch, so ya never know.
How much would one expect to pay for a night out in one of these (as a man)?
Are there any that are more foreigner friendly in the Seoul/Anyang/Suwon area? |

They usually are a real drab - even when one is with his best local, sincerest, and elite-class so-called buddy.
You'd pay way, way, way more than any one of these racist money-traps is worth, eh.

I have been three times. Each time I went with a korean friend, and even though I paid the booking fee (usually 10,000 to the waiter) they refused to bring anyone to my side of the table. My K friends always scored, but for me it was a waste of time and money. If you go, plan on spending between 80,000 and 100,000 won. Whether you have fun or not is up to you. But don't plan on getting laid through the booking thing. |

You'll have to go a poor part of town. Even Suyu probably wouldn't make the cut. I've gone with Koreans, with other foreigners, girls, and mixtures. Only have had problems in nicer parts of town with not having girls brought over. Even wrangled me a girlfriend once from at nightclub. On a Tuesday night no less.
English is not a problem. Sometimes they'll be brought over and stand right up. Other times 'body language' is all that's needed (they'll probably know that phrase). Helps to know one or two funny things in Korean. Remember, it's just to hook up, so don't go on about getting phone numbers; they're worthless. If she seems keen, ask her to go to a hof/soju tent/bar with the intent to get one drink and move on to your place. Typically, although I went to them in Cheonho which is poor, I would only spend 20,000 or so. |

There's one near Suwon station called BOSS. It is a bit of a crap hole but they will let you in. Watch your wallet.
I've never had a good night at one of these places. |
