Is there another way to watch Canadian/USA networks on the internet without having to have someone set up a slingbox back home? And i dont mean dowloading the odd show, i mean watching all the channels etc.

the only one i know of is www.streamtvnow.com
but then again, it is hit and miss and doesn't have everything like you were asking. It is up to who is streaming it and what is on.
If you got a buddy or family at home who can help you out, this slingbox is pretty ass kicking

I just purchased a slingbox and am waiting for it to arrive. For those of you who are currently using it, anything good or bad i should know?

All the reviews thus far seem fairly positive, so I have pretty high expectations.

I bought the Pro version, which if correct as advertised two people can use the same tv and watch 2 different channels as there is a tuner built into the slingbox. Although one review stated otherwise.

What luck have u had?

Im going nuts: HBO Laughing , American Football Laughing Laughing , VH1 where r they now Rolling Eyes , here I come!!!

So, you can watch something different from the TV holder, at the same time?

I tried NHL Centreice online and thought it sucked a$$ as SO many games wereb blacked out! Literally, I kid you not there were 9 games being played one time and ALL 9 were blacked out. Yeah I'd love to pay $169 bucks for that.

Ok well that is encouraging to know as I wasn't impressed with the two days I tried it on a trial period. One thing I'd like to know is whether you can see the games AFTER they have aired as many times I am working while they are on, but would gladly like to watch them later from the comforts of my home. Do you know if it's possible? During the trial period all that was possible was to see a recap of the action around the NHL, no chance to see previous games that had aired.

Have to sit around at your public school job eh? Wink (advantage of hagwons for hockey fans)

Centre ice has a 'centre ice plus' feature that lists every game from the week except not fridays yet... earlier in the week i noticed it was two days in arrears as well... so apparently (at least this week) you can't watch today's or yesterday's games, just the day before and games before that. I'll watch part of an old game later... after the full slate of games happening now.. excuse me

Wait...you can watch Stateside TV with the box in Korea? I mean, it wasn't 'set up' in the States at all (straight from the retailer)?

I thought it had to be set up in the area you want to get your feed from. Right?

Danke danke!

So, let me get this straight. we set it up at a friend's or our parent's house back home and then we can get NBC, CBS, HBO, V-H1, ESPN, etc on our computers in Korea, Japan or Taiwan?

Where can I buy this box - Canadian Tire?
How much is it?
How complicated is it to set up?
What kind of internet connection do we need?

Its pretty easy to setup. The manual is huge, has a lot of pictures and step by step directions.

You can buy the slingbox at just about every major retailer. The price varies depending on the slingbox you get.

I would recommend any internet connection that has faster than 500kbps upload. 300kbps is playable but it will look crappy at full screen. 500kbps is pushing the "acceptable" limit. Obviously, the faster the upload the better the picture quality.

Well, yes and no. You can watch stateside tv in korea, but the box needs to be set up in America, specifically the local tv you desire. I had the box sent to my mom's house where it was set up on her cabletv/internet and I recieve the feed through downloadable software on the slingbox website.

Alittle tricky setting up, but now its gold. I got my fix of American football this weekend and now im just watching stupid sh**. What happened to MTV? Geez thats a crappy channel now. But now ive got it all at my fingertips NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, SPIKETV, VH1, HISTORY CHANNEL, FOX... and many more. I may not leave my house for the week.
