So what's the most ridiculous thing you've had to do for your job?

Tomorrow, the Korean and foreign teachers at my school are supposed to advertise some Learn-English-in-America-and-Canada program. We have to go downtown in the morning, stand outside for a couple of hours, stop people and try to sell them this package. It will be an interesting two hours; that's for sure.

So what tripped-out, unexpected things have you had to do?

I once rewrote the script of Aladdin so that 50 children could have at least one line each. We had about 10 genies. That was actually a little bit fun.

When I worked for a Hagwon, the owner had the great idea of marketing his hagwon to the parents of kids. So he devised a plan whereby he plant some of his hagwon material at Saunas, Bars, Norabangs, etc. Who was the lucky guy to put his marketing stuff around these areas? Yep you guessed it. The owner was too embarrassed to go himself so he paid me to make a trip and use the services such as the singing room and then putting stuff around the place. Just made me p'eed that I had to do this. I am a teacher not a tool!

Make an audio recording of the Lord's Prayer and Apostles' Creed for the PE teacher who doesn't go to church. I have no bloody clue what they wanted it for.

The most ridiculous thing I've ever been asked to do was become a Girl Scout volunteer (I'm a guy), but I managed to worm my way out of that one.

Back in my hakwon days.

Most ridiculous thing I ever did...phone teaching

Most ridiculous thing I was asked to do...dress up as Santa Claus and go around to the students apartments handing out gifts. I refused point blank. No I didn't feel bad for the other two foreign teachers who meekly acquiesced...grow a spine losers.

Hmm. . . for summer camp here I taught taekwondo. I taught in English, but I taught TKD nonetheless.

Surely that's illegal, if you can't go out and do privates for your haggie then you can't be allowed to do this. Is there a real difference?

Swap pants and jacket with a Korean teacher so I'd look presentable for photos I wasn't told about.

I would've worn my suit if it wasn't packed away ready for me to go back home in a couple of days and oh yeah if I was TOLD before coming to school!!!
