I am heading to Japan for Xmas, the tentative plan at this point is to ferry over from Busan, get the JR pass, and slowly make my way east towards Tokyo, arriving a couple days before NYE, then celebrate the night of the 31st there and fly back to Seoul the next day, on Jan. 1st.
I am weighing the option of taking the ferry back as well though, (although I'm not sure this would be worth the money I'd save with all the added hassle --I would still have to take a train from Busan back to Seoul), and getting to the ferry would be much easier if I wasn't in Tokyo for New Year's Eve.
Has anybody spent NYE there? Is it totally crazy? And if so, in a good way, or a bad way? Would it be equally fun to spend it in osaka or somewhere else, or is Tokyo just the place to be. |
