Do you know of any decent hiking areas somewhere between Ilsan and say Jongno-Samga i.e. not too far from Ilsan? I would like to know about decent hiking areas around.

Thanks..

Grab the Lonely Planet Seoul (or Korea) book for specific info.

There's also a hiking club in Seoul.

I recommend going to Bukhansan, you can access the mountain from all over northeast Seoul.

The Baegundae hike is one of the nices, and there's a temple at the beginning. Go to Suyu Station, then take a taxi to "Doseonsa." The trail is right there at the parking lot.

Ilsan means "one mountain" . I think that indirectly means there isn't alot of good hiking in Ilsan.

Also 4 or 5 people died from lightning stikes 4 or 5 weeks ago in Goyang, which is pretty much Ilsan =)

(BTW they were unlucky, it probably won't happen again for another 100 years, hike forever!)
