Opt for digital cable if you can. Skylife's only pluses are Star Sports in English and BBC Entertainment, but you have to buy the equipment and stuff unless you sign on for three years.
My Korean friend says he's read MANY complaints about Skylife from Koreans.
So if you can get digital cable, go for that instead of Skylife. |

Cheers, it's not until I come back to Korea anyway so I'm not in any great rush, just thought that this time I would see if there were any decent tv packages I could subscribe to. Wot exactly is the difference between digital cable and Skylife? |

Price among other things.
Sign up for a year of digital and you can get cable and internet for about 22k won per month and no connection fees and nothing to buy. They provide the set-top box and modem as well.
The selection of ENGLISH channels is about the same (perhaps a few different channels but similar content). |

Do you have it and would you reccommend it, or is it best just to stick with the internet? |

I had it when I lived in north Suwon and kept it when I moved to Yongtong.
I do not have it now but the reason I do not is because I am fairly happy with my current cable service and I only pay 5000 won per month for it.
I would suggest you check out what the local service is at your new residence first
and then,
if you want more or want a combined cable/internet package to go with it.
I would not discourage anyone from getting it. The combined "cable TV/cable internet" package is often less than a DSL package from the other ISPs and is more than adequate for the average user.
IF you are a super heavy internet user (high torrents user, high bandwidth user) you may want more but for the average user who only downloads a few gigs per day, does chatting, e-mail and surfing, it is just fine.

I have skylife and have had it for 16 months now. it's a bit over priced and the content is not always great eg: difficult to watch an English language movie after 9pm as they tend to show Korean movies and no English subtitles. Also reruns of everything come thick and fast. Having said that though it is still better than no English language tv and if you are bored there is always something to watch. But definatly check out the other options. |

The only really big advantage of Skylife over the various cable packages is Star Sports. If you're a sports fan it's great to have the English commentary. |
