it doesn't expire for another seven years, but my pages are almost full and my passport photo looks ridiculous. i know i can just add pages, but i'd honestly rather not have to hide this thing around my friends for eternity. i assume it's not possible to change pictures without renewing.

| It is very possible to change your picture... although they won't stick it on the main page. They will put it somewhere in the passport and a note on the note page to say that the photo has been changed... at least that's what they do with children.. |

Yes. Government agencies never turn you down when you want to waste money. |

if you do not have at least 1 blank page left, then it is judged as full.
If the pages are full you have to renew, or you will be barred from boarding the plane.
If you have a US passport you can simply get more pages added to make it a 48 pager.
if its British, then you have to get a whole new passport which takes at least 10 working days, usually more.
New passports out now contain microchips etc and you will need more detailed personal info than before, to get one.
As far as I know, you cannot change the picture unless your appearance has radically changed since (ie surgery or baldness): nor can you arbirarily renew it before it is full (although I could be wrong, this is the impression I remember from speaking to officials and reading the small print on the application form.).
Either way, its a lot to pay simply if you want a nice new picture in your passport.
hope this helps... |
