I have been in Busan for about one week and am thinking of spending my weekend exploring my area... I already know of areas outside of my Gu that I'd like to visit, but can anybody recommend anything in this particular area that I should do or be aware of prior to expanding my adventures beyond Dongnae ?

Thanks Smile

Also, does anybody know where I might find a good map of the area? The ones on pusanweb don't even make it clear which subway stop is mine... that, or I just don't understand their maps Laughing

dongnae doesnt have much to offer.. ummm you can go the spa! its one of the biggest in pusan if not the country.. thats pretty much its claim to fame.. its central pusan so close to PNU and Somyeon so you might be better off checking out those places dongnae is just a place to live..not much else...

That is more or less what I thought, but I wanted to look for some input prior to simply writing the area off as little more than somewhere to sleep and buy food. I'm definitely checking out the university area this weekend... one of my coteachers thinks that I'm nuts for suggesting that I would walk to the area, but really... it can't be further than a half hour walk from Minam, can it?

On average I find that it's 15 minutes walking per subway stop, probably 45 mins to PNU (stop 128)

Busan map (this is the same map they will give you at tourist centers)

Thank you Smile So... that's certainly more than 30 minutes. I see why she might have thought that I was nuts. But when you have a lot of time to kill, as I will on the weekends until I make friends... it's doable.

Cheers!
