Are you being scouted out by the police or locals?

There's several tens of thousands of white guys in Thailand at any one time. I doubt it's anything other than business as usual for people on vacation there.

If he HADN'T fled the country and was in hiding here, I suspect there might be some heat for bald 30ish males in Korea since there's comparitively few here.

In Thailand I doubt there's any change. They have hundreds of wanted pedos on their books as it is (I saw it on that CNN video.. or maybe it was a Canadian video.. I forget)

I'm in Korea, but it seems like a strange question.

To know what it is like to be in a country where there is a manhunt for a white male is a strange question? It's certainly not an everyday occurence. Maybe you don't have much of an imagination.

You obviously don't know anything about Thai culture. Thais don't pay much attention to the news. When they do, they oftentimes laugh at the same types of things that upset us. Nothing phases them very much. Most of the time, Thais are walking around worrying about their money problems or how to make more money. I have no doubt that if this pedophile walked into a hotel or guest house with his picture and wanted poster plastered to every wall right now, the front desk people would only be concerned about him paying for the room (not that he's a wanted pedophile). Fact is, most Thais will not care! So don't think that Thais react to things in the same way as Koreans because they don't! They are as different as night is to day.

Exactly, exactly, exactly!

I keep seeing people posting "a white guy in Asia! He'll be found in two seconds! He's crazy for going to Thailand? A white guy in Thailand, he'll stand out like a soar thumb!"

I was thinking exactly the same as Hyeon Eun. They are a dime a dozen. Nearly every tenth person you walk by in that country is a white man.

I also saw the video of the police zoning in on Pattaya. The locals just pulled out a book of other pedos and sex offenders and basically said 'he's real low priority, and don't know why this one appeals so much, but we can put his picture with the 100s of 1000s of others that other authorities like you have given us. *yAwn* Y'know there are 1000s that are much worse than him, by the way.'

The media is pretty horrible.

Don't kid yourselves, this same scheit goes on back in Canada, America, Australia, U.K. also - and often!

Take a look at the shit that happens to Indian kids on the reserves in Canada.

But it's sexier and sells more papers to talk about a Canadian English teacher living and wandering about the Far East who's diddled little boys in Cambodia; Now the subject of an international manhunt!

The media sucks, actually.

I think the difference here is the photos he posted on the Internet about it. I get the impression that he was something of an internet pedophile superstar, which is why his photos were scrutinized so much by Interpol. He was probably a regular poster in some newsgroup with a title like alt.sex.kiddy.diddlers.authentic or real.pervs.only.plz.moderated and would post 'photo sets' like newsgroups are known for, which would be 150 photos of the same event. Then thousands of other pedophiles could download his sets and warnk off for weeks.

I, for one, would vote for taking out the pedophile king before his pedophile subjects.

AFter the coupe I started a rumour on The ThornTree that people were being rounded up by the Junta and herded in police vans because they were taking photos of tanks.

got a few panicking posts on there from people worried about going to Thailand now or in Thailand but now scared to go onto the streets.

Good effort.
