lookin to do a PADI cert in the above 2 places. which is better re: instruction, up to date equipment, diving exp (instructors and general underwater topography), prices, etc.
considering Koh Tao, or somewhere in the phillies (puerto galera maybe). any advice/recs/suggs welcome. thx! |

action divers in Puerto Galera is great: www.actiondivers.com
PG is a great place to be certified, period. There are many dive shops, keeping prices pretty competitive. Safe, up to date equipment, for the most part. Also, there are a huge number of dive sites within a 5-10 min boat ride, most of them suitable for new divers. The boats go out and come back for every dive, so there is no need to commit the entire day to diving if you don't want to.
Not such a great place for non-diving vacation activities, however. |

| We got our certification in the Philippines on Apo Island--google it--it was absolutely wonderful. It was just the dive master and the 2 of us in some of the best coral reefs in the world. The entire island is a preserve. |

| muchas gracias. just what i needed. any spots to hit after the cert? PG, Palawan, and up north (forgot the name). am i missing out on any other awesome spots? |
