A Canadian guy who used to live in my building once told me 7-11 is gay. What do you think he meant by that? |

Maybe he's overcompensating for his own gay-ness.
I like 7-11. I'd rather support that Japanese company than a Korean ripoff of it (Family Mart, Buy the Way).
Also, a 7-11 is opening in almost every (possibly every) Line 5,6,7,8 subway station. Now that's what I call convenient!! |

It's gay because it doesn't stock 1/10th of the food available in the Japanese and American locations. Your only option is a disgusting sandwich mutation or a vinegar egg. In Japan and America, you may as well be walking into a restaurant. |

And whose fault is that? It's Koreans for wanting the same crappity crap crap again and again, not demanding anything new. |

I never demanded anything from 7-11 or heard of citizen action groups demanding more products. I'd just go to 7-11 and hey, like magic, new stuff. |

The ajoshi running the one near me seems ajoshi-straight and ajoshi-square. But then, he does smile at me. A lot. Wearing that fruity green 7-11 jacket of his. Hmm... smiley, fruity jacket. You know, he actually could be gay. |

gay is not a very PC term, q.
you should say "it's gay, meaning bad" instead. that way people know that you're not talking about homosexuals, but about something that sucks. |

perhaps he was speaking in an older dialect of english and simply ment that 7-11 is happy.
i can only assume it has to do with the store being well lit and employing friendly staff. |

Q is right, they don't sell much of the same stuff as in NA. Then again it's talored to the Koreans taste. It sucks, but then again what the heck can we do about it. |

Well, the Japanese ones are tailored to Japanese tastes and they have a lot of tasty options. I was pissed the first time I went into one because I wasn't hungry. |

Japanese 7-11's are GREAT! So many choices! That big wall of all kinds of frosty wobbly-pops is outstanding! Mmmm - lime chu-hi. |
