|
|
I'm guessing this will go unanswered, but would anyone happen to know the nutrition info for o-deng? I know it's basically mashed up fish and flour, so maybe 2/3 protein and 1/3 carbs? That sound about right?
Anyone have the Korean skills (or korean g/f or b/f) to do a quick search in korean for me? i can't find it on english websites.
if you can find the answer, i'll be most happy and impressed! and if you ever swing thru my little po-dunk town, i'll buy you a heap of o-deng! |

According to this chat, the top line is for odeng.
135 calories
14.1g protein
3.0 fat
117mg calcium
13.7g carbohydrate
The other three are for comparison purposes - imitation crab meat, pork and white rice. |

WOW -- awesome! Thank you for the fast reply!
I'm going to guess that this is for about 31g of o-deng -- maybe that's about one stick? Did it say?
Thanks again! |

I love Odeng. Now that the cold weather is drawing in, eating Odeng and drinking the fantastic Odeng-guk is a great way to keep warm if you're out and about. |

yep, or a little dukbokki from the street ajumas, or a Korean pancake. Korean food tastes better in the colder months. |

The odeng soup is good. I don't even bother with the odeng. |

Yeah, I always though o-deng was just "okay", but since I've been on a pretty strict diet for awhile now, I actually found myself really craving to eat some o-deng. I always assumed it was kind of a crappy food in terms of it's nutrition, but I guess maybe it's okay after all. Ate it for a long time without ever really understanding what it was. |

We make a *healthy* version of o-deng guk for my toddler daughter over there <<<=====
odeng
water
salt (I don't use the soup base powder. I worry about MSG. Salt does the trick nicely)
green onion
raddish
Boil altogther until the raddish is soft and the odeng is puffed up.
If you are worried about the soup not being tasty, add some *guk kanjang* (soup soy sauce). |

I hate odeng. It should, therefore, be prohibited. |
