I think they require the sort of validation that can't be faked....looks like you'll fall into the unverified bin of suspicion w/ that nonsense... Very Happy

Good luck to you. I am sure you will keep your head down and do as the Masters tell you. Me I am my own master. I have a new job lined up and will be leaving the land of the morning calm in 2 months.

Jade the apparently melodramatic.

P.S. Since when did standing up for one's self make one melodramatic?

Jade, what will your hubby do? We'll be sorry to see you go after all of this time.

Personally, I hope you let it be known why you are leaving, and how stupid they are for asking again.

He may come and study chinese. He has always had an interest in it. We will long distance it for a year possibly. His family are in the process of trying to franchise their Goshiwons.

Does that mean that you will possibly separate over it or that you will possibly not spend a full year apart?

The OCT is about as real a verification as you can get. Go to their find a teacher search function and see all the degrees that teacher has, all the AQs they have taken and what their BQs are. That is the purpose of having a college...to regualte an industry...College of Dentists/Doctors/Teachers/Lawyers/etc/. Also if you break their rules in or out of Ontario you can be stripped of your teaching credentials. A organization like the OCT is what they need in the lie ridden industry that education is in Korea.

And they should also demand the same qualifications from teachers here that they do in the OCT.

Tell them that you are not Korean and do not feel the need to cheat on your qualifications.

Best line ever.

How about, "Why do you have to check my credentials? Do I look like Shin Jeong-ah?"

I find it utterly ridiculous that in this country, you can't just be verified once and be done with it. Why can't they keep a copy of your information at Immigration and then just check it against your passport or something easy like that? Probably because they get perverse joy out of watching us run around like chickens with our heads cut off and they enjoy receiving the visa fees too much.
