I'm looking to buy a 250cc mirage. I'll fly to pick it up. If you have one for sale or know of one for sale shoot me a PM.
Thanks!

I got one from bikemart.co.kr
You can cruise the site without registering, but to look at bike details and do more specific searches, you'll need to register. This requires someone who speaks Korean, and if you want to call someone, they probably won't speak English.
BTW, I cruised the Toegyero area (bike shops near Chungmuro station) and found NO good 250 Mirages. |

Thanks for the heads up. I live on Jeju Island so I can't really cruise around to check them out. For some reason my ARC number won't let me register with bikemart? Maybe you have to be a Korean citizen to register? I dunno.

I don't remember whose ID number I used, maybe mine, maybe my girl's, she's the one who registered me.
If you are on Jejudo, you can get a bike back there by taking an overnight ferry from the mainland. |

I know this isn't the right thread anymore... but, what's the proper procedure for transferring the papers on the bike, don't both the old owner and the new owner have to go to the place the new owner lives? (That'd be pretty much impossible in my case.) |

hey...i lived on jeju and had 3 bikes...get talking to people there and you might be able to buy one off someone...or go to the bike shops...there is a great one just as you are coming into sinjeju...total waste to transport one to you unless you are going to put down some big bucks and buy a new big bike...I had a 250cc mirage when I was there and it cost me 1m... |

It'd only cost 40 bucks to send the bike back on a ferry. I'm thinking about making a Seoul visit in the next couple weeks anyway. Do you remember what road the "good bike shop" is on? There are lots of ways into shin-jeju (it's where I live, so, of course, I've over-complicated it.) Thanks again for the responses everyone.

It was when I was coming from seogwipo....just go to any bike shop and ask for what you want and they will find one on the island...40 bucks on the ferry but you need to ride the bike down to mokpo...it is heaps more than that from incheon...and unless you have been riding in Korea for a while I wouldnt recommend a seoul-mokpo ride, its a tuffy, I just did it in summer....good luck.. |

Go to the "official motorcycle/scooter thread" in off topic. The info is there. And here: http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=47204

There's lots of shops in Toegyero 5-ga. To get there, go to Chungmuro station (line 3 and 4) and walk towards Dongdaemun stadium station and away from Myeongdong. You can't miss them.
But you won't find many 250 Mirages. Most Hyosung shops don't sell them used, either. I remember a shop near the Hyehwa rotary (walk towards Hansung Uni station from the rotary, it's on your left) had a used one for 2.0 million a month ago, but I thought the price was a bit too high.
Seriously, get on bikemark.co.kr and make some contacts right before you come. The ads are updated regularly. |
