As far as I know there's only one organization of homebrewers in Korea and its Korean language ( http://www.homebrewadventures.com/articles/article11140201.shtml ) but I know there's a number of people on this forum who homebrew and I was wondering if anyone would like to try to get some people together for an informal homebrewing club. We could have a beer swap/meeting every month or two and help each other escape the evil tyranny of Hite/Cass/OB 
Sounds like a good idea to anyone? |

Where in Korea does one purchase home brewing equipment anyway?
I really miss IPA, or any brew with hops.

Hell you can get Alley Kat ale in Itaewon, its plenty hoppy.
There's a number of websites where you can get stuff, its a bit pricey, although there's some stuff on sale cheap on some of the websites:

If you're cheap you can also supplement the malt with supermarket rice/corn syrup. Someone on these boards was talking about there being barley malt syrup in Korea but I looked all over and can't find it.
Overall my costs when making beer come out to about the same as the price of Cass/Hite/OB but compared to imports I save sooooooooooooo much money. |

man, they used to sell oettinger (some german brewery) hefeweizen in 500 ml cans for 1800 won at emart. what the hell happened to that?! was it just temporarily sold out when i went there?! who's buying it all???
they still have the regular sized cans of oettinger pilsner for 1500 t hough.
by the way, i'd love to start homebrewing, but my room is way too small. ah well. |

Erdinger? Hmmm haven't seen those.
Space really isn't much of an issue, a corner of your bathroom is enough space (that's what I use). |

Thought you were badly misspelling Erdinger since I'd never heard of Oettinger but a quick bit of googling showed that I was wrong... |

I'm interested in this as well, but I've never tried homebrewing before. I was thinking about starting out with trying to brew some mead, as it seems a little easier and a friend of mine's going to give me all his supplies in a month or so when he leaves the country.
How about starting with a Facebook group? |
