|
|
Does one need to have a round trip ticket to get a 30-day tourist stamp on their passport?
Because I just want to buy a one-way flight and look for a job when I get there.
Thanks in advance... |

this all depends on what country you're leaving from and who you're flying with...you'll hear that people were able to board no problem with a one way and coming for a tourist visa, but then you'll also hear that some people couldn't get in...so when you go to the airline, its literally up in the air, however, personally I have heard more success out of North America than from Europe... |

Here are some things that will help:
Short, neat, haircut, if you're a guy..just neat and conservative for girls.
Clean neat clothing, no blue jeans.
Professional looking carryon, i.e. no backpack.
Be over 30. |

you can also stare straight at the airline ticket agent and remind them they are not immigration but only an airline and you will be more than happy to discuss your situation with immigration and would they kindly just do their job?
honestly!! it really gets me when govt officials try and pass the buck to the airlines -
airlines also play this game to boost ticket sales - i swear!!
i was flying one way to s. africa and stopped in hk - hk didn't want me to board because i only had a one way ticket - i said this is a dream trek i have no idea when i'm leaving, or how, or maybe am going to another african country and leave from there - i was furious with them - they wanted me to buy another ticket then and there - !!!
a lot of whining on their part saying immigration wanted them to do this!!
after much insistence and refusal to buy another ticket they brought forth a form for me to sign basically stating i held them harmless etc if there was any problem??? huh? whatever.
epilogue:
my arrival at s. africa - immigration checking me out - "welcome to s. africa, enjoy your stay here!" |
