| I find it interesting that in light of the Chris Neil debacle, Canadian teachers in Korea have been roundly condemned as, for the most part, dope-smoking paedophiles. I mean, seriously, Canadians filled that role long before Neil was apprehended. Of course I'm joking, being a proud Canadian myself, but why is there such a bad rap against Canadians on this forum? The only violent incidents I have been actively involved in have been with Kiwis and southern fried Americans. If anyone could shed light on this, I would be greatly appreciative. |

| By southern fried Americans, I refer to those dough heads from states such as Louisiana or Texas who are just dumbfucks. Most of them aren't, obviously, but those are the folks I've had run ins with. |

As for the bad rep... Well, if someones assumes we're all pedos, then all we can do is laugh, right? It's so stupid that you can't really get upset. It's like me saying all Americans are idiots, all Brits are drunks, and all South Africans are racist.
As for the drug thing. Sure a small minority Canadians back home like the grass but, a HUGE majority of us here don't cause any problems with drugs. And as one Canadian who has never done drugs in Korea, that statement doesn't bother me either.
Do these things really bother you when they are so far from the truth? |

| Actually the accusations of drug use and paedophilia don't really bother me, I'm just wondering why Canadians are continually crapped on in this forum. Thanks for the reply and the perspective Newbie, but the Habs rule and the Laffs defy all the laws of physics by sucking and blowing at the same time. |

The resentment about Canadians is that we get a 6-month insta-visa whioe others get 3. It's as simple as that.
And it's reciprical so it's as it should be. Yanks and Brits don't trust anybody and want to toss them in Guantanamo Bay or send them back where they came from.
Canada is a more civil and enlightened country (yes there are some drawbacks but we accept them) and not as redneck and racist as the aforementioned.
Some don't like it but that's the price you will pay for intelligence.
If you want to be war-monger there are consequences.
And I wonder what Brave New World that has such people in it that some can resent Canada. Maybe we should all move there, except the -----and --------- of course. Well be happy then |
