Quote:
According to a recent survey, 69% of the respondents - 55% of the males and 84% of the females - support the law. But 75% of all Korean men admit to adultery while only 15% of females do. Civic and feminist groups are taking up the debate. There are various voices on this issue. Park So Hyun, an advisor at "The Korean Legal Aid Center for Family Relations" says "We support the adultery law because of women's economic situation. If women divorced, they would be in trouble because women have less ability to make money. The law also upholds moral, family and traditional values."

Adultery is an interesting issue in Korea.

How strictly is the law enforced?

If you were interested in a married colleague, and she was interested in you, would you?

I don't mess with married women. There are plenty of women around without having to destroy a family or have some nutcase husband finding out about it.

'Boyfriend' doesn't quite mean the same thing to Koreans as it does to us. Same with 'delicious', too.

^Also, to da_moler above.. you really think you're gonna get earnest, non-BS replies from a majority?

I wonder if foreign men are seen by women as a good, no-strings way of getting some extra-marital excitement. Anyone have any experience of this?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

What are you talking about? Get to know some of them and the cool (open-minded) Korean girls and they will let you know who's single.

Or just go to a party spot and meet the single ones there. True, they may not all be single who are looking, but you'll find them.

This thread has bad mambo-jambo written all over it. Don't try and fight it.

rickvaughn: Yes, they're all taken. Use this in justifying going after the married ones.

da_moler: Koreans are some of the most faithful people in the world (insert something about nationalistic fervor here). That and they don't actually like sex. Better luck in another country.

Yes, I understand that your average married Korean woman wants nothing more than to have some over-sized, ham-fisted, loud-mouthed, fresh-out-of-college hagwon clod-ape atop of her, drooling all over her boobies and thumping his stumpy digits at her mimsy. I believe it's a fantasy that many, many, many Korean women harbour.

...but we're all good-looking, and I would say 75% of Korean women want us, don't you know that?!
