Any other American expats on this board thinking of / have immigrated to Canada? I am seriously thinking about this, and wonder if any others have experience in this move.
Peace |

Live, invest, marry, have property, do business, have friends, hide, vacation,
have sex, watch TV, hike, bike, fish...yes. Become Canadian? No. |

Don't worry, you're not invited. |

Well, then we'll make an exception as long as you learn to pronounce "sorry" the correct way. |

I thought about immigrating to Canada to live in Vancouver, but found that it's necessary to have big money or at least a professional career that takes you to Canada. In my understanding, the job market is not great for young adults and foreign career changers. |

You mean "emigrating". Immigrating means coming, emigrating means going.

You're right there. If you want a more comfortable, tolerant culture, I'd advise moving to urban Canada. However, don't expect to be making big money without the connections.
There is a chance that you can do okay, but it's more than likely you'll end up in the service sector making a small wage. Thats the way Canada is for young folk. No ladders to climb. |

*Cough* MONCTON?!?!!
Sure, if you like churches (on every corner), Tim Hortons (also on every corner), wage slavery and strip malls (not to mention anal-retentive francophones) move there.
Moncton is one ugly ass eyesore of a city. |
