i'm a US citizen without health insurance (i've only got the Korean kind)

what should i do when i visit the US in January?

I chose not to get it last time around. I looked online and did a search for "short term insurance." I found rates from $30 and up for 30 days, but with $30-40 "enrollment fees," I said screw it and rolled the dice. I didn't get sick or hurt.

i used blue shield. seemed pretty easy to begin/end. didn't try to actually use it for anything though.
