Very well captured, Giant. There are some which are brilliant.
One question for you. What setting did you have your camera on, i.e exp, AP, SS, to capture fireworks so clearly? I always have problems. |

Well, I had the most success with a 2s shutter and F11 setting, ISO 100.
It also helps to have a decent camera. I used a Nikon D80 with the standard 18-135mm lens.
And of course a rock steady tripod!! |

I know two people who went to see these firewroks, and it took them right at 5 hours to drive over there from east Seoul. NUTS! I don't like fireworks that much. They said traffic was horrible. I decided to stay in that night. Boy, am I glad I did. It would have taken forever for my taxi to drive me somewhere. |

Did anyone go to the fireworks. I did and I thought they were very disappointing, especially the Korean one at the end which was by far the worst. |

Great stuff. Good work, Giant. Wish I could have got there myself, but I know I would have gone insane with the crowds and traffic.
Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Well, for me it was like a 2 hour bus ride, and a 2 hour subway ride back.
It was crazy with people. One could harldy move!! As you can see in a couple of my photos with the crowd. The trip back just getting to the subway was the worst though!! Literally surrounded!
But it was worth it. I enjoyed the fireworks alot.
@da_moler
Why did you think they were dissapointing? As for me it was the best show I have ever seen. But then again I am not a good judge as I am not American. |

I went as well, but I was lucky enough to see it on a boat. We didn't get stuck in traffic at all, since my wife's friend works at one of those jet ski places on Han River, so we met them at the boat dock and rode the boat to the perfect spot to watch the show. The show wasn't anything spectular, since I've seen better in the states, but the ending was awesome! I think if you weren't close to the bridge where the fireworks lauching boat was, then you weren't able to see the ending. Once again, the ending was amazing. The pictures don't do any justice. We and some other boats were, literally, directly underneath the bridge when the harbor police came and told us to back up. Then, the fireworks waterfall lit up.... I will let the pictures do the talking. I was also using the D80 with the 18-200mm VR lens. Click on the link for pictures.

I see that your photos are slightly blurry because of the rocking of the boat. I used a solid manfrotto tripod so mine came out nice and clear.
Anyway it must have been awsome to be so close to the fireworks. |
