Just wondering if anyone has any ideas regarding decent Christmas presents...
Sent home the wooden cheesy crap last year (masks, figurines etc...the old style stuff) and just wondering if anyone knows any places to get more up to date stuff...maybe slightly kitsch and unique to Korea...
buying for my fifty something parents/eightsomething grandfather/20 yr old sister and 25 yr old brother....
My budget is flexible...
Also burnt my credit card a few months ago so I gotta be able to buy in person..any out of the way shops ppl know about?

| try insa dong.... they have a few cool places down there that sell 70's and 80's stuff. They also have stores that sell more traditional gifts that have been modernised. |

| It won't help for this year, but next year considering buying your gifts for family when you travel to other places. I got really great stuff in Thailand and shipped it a while back. The prices for unbelieveably great stuff are extremely low. Last year I did the same thing in Mexico. It doesn't matter when you travel, just save things up and ship them at the appropriate time. I just keep a list in my travel journal and fill it over the year. |

| When my uni has it's festival, the students in the ceramics department donate their work to be sold. It's cheap, original and Korean bowl and tea cups and such also give a hint of the culture. So I stock up in case I need a gift for someone on the spur of the moment when I go home. Plus, you help the students fund their soju binges. |
