Is it possible to cancel your E2 visa in the airport? My c0-teacher told me that I do not need to visit the immigration office in suwon and can just cancel my E2 at the airport..how does the process work? She said once I resign they will contact the immi and inform them and then I can do it in the airport. anyone knows what time the immi in airport opens? Is this even possible?
thanks in advance |

Are you leaving your contract early?
Are you ever planning on coming back to Korea?
If you are leaving after completing your contract, your coteacher is right. Your visa will simply expire and there will be no problem. If there is any other kind of situtation going on, please let usknow so we can help you out. |

2 big IFs....
IF your school contacts immigration (as they are legally required to do) and lets them know that you no longer work there
AND
IF you hand in your ARC at the passport control office when you leave
your visa will be cancelled and you will be free to find a new job on your return.
In the case where BOTH the above if's do not happen you will have difficulty getting a new E2 visa before your old contract expires.
IF you are NOT planning to return, simply leave and it will expire of its own accord.

^^^^ so if you leave your contract early-aka a runner-just go to the airport hand in your ARC and let your visa exprire naturally, once it has can you then return and seek a new visa and a new job? |
