Has it influenced your decision to re-sign?
Yep. I can't deal with this idiocy for another year.

so has all this checking and re-checking influenced your decision to sign on for another year? (i'm going on the assumption that -like jaderedux2- we'll be checked again even if we sign on with the same school)

----edit: and this is for diplomas, transcripts, online b.s., and criminal record re-check nonsense.

I don't give a shit. They want it yesterday--too bad. I wait, they wait. Canada doesn't jump just because someone in Korea says so no matter how much I want them to.

Pisses me of to no end. Although it's really the attitude of those requesting it. The fact that my life is not backed up on or by a website seems to confuse them. All because a piece of paper from head office says otherwise.

High annoyance factor to be sure.

Would it prevent me from re-upping with my current job...not a chance as it is a great job (according to what I want in a job of course).

It would be nice if they could keep an up to date database for those who have already been through the visa approval process....but they are trying to choke the flow of illegals and frauds...their method is not perfect but I suspect it is what they feel is the most efficient for now...even if it does annoy us.

Other. I find it mildly amusing. In six months it will all be forgotten...until the next time.

At the moment I feel like this is just the last straw. It's not like this is the only country to teach in. It's not a big thing, but it's just another "head up arse" thing to deal with, and at some point I have to think that somewhere else is better.

Oops, that was me by accident.

It's always been my plan to leave at the end of this contract in Aug 08 - perhaps before if I get on my desired program in Britain. I always thought I'd return to Korea some day, but I'm not sure now. Koreans are the most incredibly stupid people on the planet.

I have just started my second contract with EPIk. SO far they have not asked me for a second background check, police report, transcripts, and degree.

hubba bubba,

Bureaucracy, red tape and institutional annoyance will follow you nearly everywhere!!! Laughing
Changing the scenery can often be just changing a buck for 4 quarters....what you gotta do is find a set of bonuses and annoyances that you find tolerable....or search out the non-existant nirvana! Wink

Every school I've seen or heard of HERE is run at least as poorly as the food service jobs that kept me going through school.
