So, the safety of their officers is more important than the safety of the public? Typical thinking. This is why you can be sure that the RCMP will back up the immigration officers in the case of the murdered Polish man. The scum sticks together.

Let's get one thing straight. The scum is the guy who was fighting the police. You don't fight the police. I'm all for protecting people's rights, but to be honest I don't give a crap about anyone who's a huge enough idiot to do that.

I'd like to see what you write if those 'scum' weren't around at all.

I don'y understand why these police officers are using the tazer as what seems to be the first resort. It should be the penultimate resort, short only of using a firearm. Where is the training teaching them how to defuse situations without weapons of any kind? I know that sometimes weapons have to be used, but surely they should only be used after everything else has failed.

Prehaps you should read again before you accuse other people of not getting much straight. NOWHERE in the post you quoted did the spokesperson say that the safety of their officers is more important than the safety of the public. IN FACT he said they weren't going to buy Tasers because of safety concerns. Seems that they're more concerned with the public's safety than their officers. Otherwise why NOT buy Tasers?

He said that they were concerned about the safety of the officers and the public. In the sentence OFFICERS comes before public....we are basically an afterthought to them.
