I must be getting old. The only difference between this Friday and last Friday for me, is last Friday I worked a lot harder and went to bed earlier.

So yes, I am staying home, soon to be sleeping. (Sad I know, but for some reason I just wake up at 6am everyday and dont go back to sleep - bet that's when some of you guys goto bed after clubing etc.)

I'm 33.. and alot of pretty cool guys alot older than me go out as late if not later. In fact the younger guys are the ones who go home early it seems.

But anyhow, yeah, 6am will probably catching me eating dinner somewhere with a few girls in the middle of HongDae or who knows where.. lord knows at this moment.. I guess thats why its so much fun to go out in Seoul.. but wherever I am.. even if just drinking with a few old friends or new friends.. I'll be drinking a nice cold glass of beer at that time Wink

20 more minutes and I'm out of work for the weekend.. can't wait!

You're 33??? And all this time I thought you were dong-saeng....(*ST humbly bows to hyung)

Wearing my 'Commedia della Arte' costume at work as I type [click here to get an idea of what it looks like]; Will go home this evening and dole out goodies in order to avoid egging and TPing.
"The Forsaken" is on TV tonight (some sort of recent vampire flic)- anyone seen it? Is it worth watching?

Im staying in mostly out spite. Its a classic case of cutting off your nose to spite yourself.

Theres this girl co-worker who I like, but she doesnt feel the same way, but yet she kinda invited me out to Itaewon. I declined as I dont want to see her having a good time with other guys.

My mind is a trainwreck sometimes.

I'm home tonight too. I've gotten about 10 hours of sleep all week and I was just too wiped to grab a taxi into town (mind you it's 5am and I'm still awake again. Confused )

Instead, I loaded a new mix into my MP3 player and opted to take a nice quiet walk on the near empty streets in Nowon, up to the local graveyard. I guess I was hoping to snap some ghost pictures but no luck Smile I did get a few nice low-light shots with the street lights through the fog though.

I surprise myself that I'm 33. I try to imagine myself in my old age and think what would I like to remember of my years as a 33-year-old and live accordingly. I think I do quite well.

That'll be me.. I can see it coming. I'm just having such a good time. I look at the next few years and I see myself having a lot of great different experiences.. but i don't see myself being in some radically different situation than I am in now.. nor would I want to be. I'm right where I want to be.

The only thing that freaks me out is when I chat online with girls and they ask my age and freak out that I'm 33 and not married (or ask something weird and age-related). Otherwise I'm age-less now and forever will be in my own head.

I'm lucky an cursed at the same time. I'm in my thirties but my baby face makes people think I am 23-26.

Anyway, as a great, great, GREAT man once wrote:

"When I'm lyin' in my bed at night
I don't wanna grow up
Nothing ever seems to turn out right
I don't wanna grow up

How do you move in a world of fog that's
always changing things
Makes wish that I could be a dog

When I see the price that you pay
I don't wanna grow up
I don't ever want to be that way
I don't wanna grow up

Seems that folks turn into things
that they never want
The only thing to live for is today...

I'm gonna put a hole in my T.V. set
I don't wanna grow up
Open up the medicine chest
I don't wanna grow up

I don't wanna have to shout it out
I don't want my hair to fall out
I don't wanna be filled with doubt
I don't wanna be a good boy scout
I don't wanna have to learn to count
I don't wanna have the biggest amount
I don't wanna grow up

Well when I see my parents fight
I don't wanna grow up
They all go out and drinkin' all night
I don't wanna grow up

I'd rather stay here in my room
Nothin' out there but sad and gloom
I don't wanna live in a big old tomb on
grand street
When I see the 5 o'clock news
I don't wanna grow up
Comb their hair and shine their shoes
I don't wanna grow up

Stay around in my old hometown
I don't wanna put no money down
I don't wanna get a big old loan
Work them fingers to the bone
I don't wanna float on a broom
Fall in love, get married then boom
How the hell did it get here so soon

I don't wanna grow up "

Cheers,

Joe

I'm chiming in with the 'stayed at home' crowd. I feel like a bit of a candy-ass for staying in, but I've got this hagwon brunch thing Saturday at 11:30 am. If I'd gone out last night either A) I would have came home stinking drunk and woken up sometime around 2 in the afternoon or B) I would have stuffed my queasy, hungover self full of buffet food and then yacked all day long.

Now, as much fun as it would be to vomit all over the place in full view of my boss and co-workers, I decided to err on the side of caution, just this once.

Instead, I probably did one of the geekiest things possible, which was to go to bed early, listening to "The Silmarillion" on my MP3 player. Man, if I was back home I'd kick my own ass for being so lame I tell you.

Well I am 30, but I think it's the fact I am married with a baby that makes me feel older. I work all day, get home and the baby saps what strength I have left. It is fun and all, but between "the man" and my family, I can't do the bar runs anymore.

I just got out of bed at 2pm. I also woke up with red blood paint all over my face and hands.. lol.. from Shevek and Camel. I'm too lazy to shower quite yet.. so its good news the red paint isn't all over the keyboard and all over my bed covers.. whew! But being my hands are totally red I can't figure out how to rub my eyes in that 'good morning' self kind of way..
