Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder has admitted not knowing people speak English in London.

The NFL player might want to check a map before he gets on board a plane for Sunday's prestige game against the New York Giants at Wembley Stadium.
Crowder, who comes from Atlanta in Georgia, may be praised on the field, but confessed geography was not his strong point.
He admitted he did not know until now where London was - or that Londoners spoke English.
"I couldn't find London on a map if they didn't have the names of the countries," he said.
"I swear to God. I don't know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I learned that."
Crowder added: "I know (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him.
"That's the closest thing I know to London. He's black, so I'm sure he's not from London. I'm sure that's a coincidental name."
The Miami Dolphins are play the New York Giants at Wembley this Sunday in the first NFL regular-season game to be played outside the United States. |

This is a cheap jibe at the Yanks. Sportsmen aren't known for their brains. This made me laugh. "I didn't know they spoke English in London. Makes Lee Bowyer look like Einstein. |

This guy is the product of a school system that has run amok. He is a GRADUATE of Florida University. Can he read? Probably not. But he can say: "Me play football". Joe Paterno would not have allowed him even near Penn State. |

Well, I remember when I was asking some high school students why the Pittsburgh Steelers were called the Steelers and they said "Mr. it's because they stole things". I thought that was a funny response. What is so surprising about this news? 20% of people in the U.S. can't find, supposedly, the US on the map, so it would make sense that some would have no clue where London or Frankfurt are located and what have you....
This is not to make fun of a nation or anything, but the media, government and other leaders don't really make it much of a point that the people know Germany from Spain. They would rather have an ignorant population in my book, so they can run things more easily... Anyway, Crowder was being honest, he doesn't know, he doesn't seem like a bad guy because of it. |

Very typical of that culture.
Americans are almost proud of their ignorance.
Especially about anything that isn't American.
(Moreover, they express opinions on anything, even if they know nothing about it whatsoever, the fodder for many comedians-as-reporter interview 'talking to Americans' funny moments) |

A guy from the same team that can't seem to win a game. 0-8. Soon to be 0-9.
Now, if Peyton Manning said that..... |

One ought not make sport of grammar on a web-board. So says Big Bird. However, if you're blowing foam into your root beer sniggering about others' intelligence, you shouldn't be making mistakes like this.
And VI demonstrates Canadian stereotypes while stereotyping. |

I wanted to highlight this, but I am absolutely at a loss of a suitable response. |

They didn't give him anything.
He made millions for them.
They handed him a degree.
That concludes the class: Introduction to NCAA-Division 1 Sports
Of course, I shouldn't have to say that this is not typical of student-athletes but I will anyway. THIS IS NOT TYPICAL OF STUDENT-ATHLETES. |
