What gives with these checks for fake degrees? We have already submitted our documentation to the intelligentsia hierarchy (immigration)....have things changed since we last handed them over?....it would appear that certain Korean ' professors ' need their documents checked before ours.
Anyone recognise this woman (' Kwangju Bienalle ') found guilty for pretending to have 'degrees which were (eventually) found to be fake and also recently reported to have been photographed naked in someone's house?
I'm tired of being viewed as some immoral, drug taking sexual predator. I never lied about my qualifications, I don't take drugs, get drunk and insight violence and I'm happily married and faithful. Oh and I'm not a paedophile. Are we to believe that Korea doesn't have paedophile's as well as Aids, corruption and prostitution. |

I think you mean 'thou' instead of 'thy.' And when using archaic pronouns, please change the verb ending to reflect congruence. 'Practice what thou preachest' would be acceptable.

Also, I'm not sure what can be further gleaned by yet ANOTHER thread that whines, "Why do we have to have our degrees checked again? They've already been checked." At this point, you're preaching to the choir, brother. |

' preach to the converted ' to try to persuade people to believe things they already believe. There's no need to tell us about the benefits of recycling. You're preaching to the converted. (usually in continuous tenses).

Hmmm, you may be right. Although it's my understanding that King James (successor to Queen Elizabeth) is credited with helping to preserve the use of archaic prounouns such as thee, thou, thy, and thine.
All this I learned from 15 seconds' worth of checking the Wikipedia link I referenced above.

And speaking of checking facts, it's interesting that "preaching to the choir" and "preaching to the converted" are quoted by Soju Hoju's link as having the EXACT same meaning.

Touche. Perhaps I should have said, "parties with the theme of the era in which Shakespeare lived," or even, "Shakespeare's era," so as to be more accurate.
However, a quick google search returns results that say both "Shakespearean Era" and "Elizabethan Era." As I previously stated, I believe that the preservation of archaic pronouns in speech was credited to both Shakespeare and King James I, which would mean that it began to fall widely into practice during the Jacobean era, not necessarily the Elizabethan.
But again, you may be right. I'm not an expert. Happy now? |
