Shocked So I've just been let go. I've got a week to pack up and clear out, although I'm still expected to work. Laughing I had extended my visa for an extra 6 months but this will only make 2. My question is, can I still hang out in Korea and not work? I do still have 4 months on my visa extension. Do I have to go to immigration and report the situation, and possibly have to turn in my alien card?

What do I do here? Do I have to leave the country and come back?
Does anyone know?

Cheers

PS: This is not a gripe letter. Student numbers are down, so they want me to leave early. I'm quite happy to do so, no hard feelings at all. Shocked

I think it depends on whether or not you place of employment cancels your E2 Visa. If they don't cancel it then I think you can stay for the remainder of your E2 visa. But if you want to work elsewhere, you need that golden letter of release from them.
